Weight loss surgery is not a quick fix but it does help many in their battle of losing weight.

There are different stages of obesity ranging from minor obesity to morbidly obese. Obesity can trigger many other health related issues making it a life threatening problem for some. Much like the stages of obesity, there are a variety of different weight loss surgeries ranging from very invasive to a simple out patient procedure. The type of surgery that is best will be determined by several things with the most crucial being the stage of obesity.

The stomach then becomes the size of a half-dollar with the majority of the food passing directly through the intestine. The object of the surgery is to reduce the size of the stomach and have waste pass directly through the body without having a chance to sit and turn to fat.

A quicker and much easier weight loss surgery is the gastric lap band. This procedure is commonly done on an in-out basis; meaning the patient goes home the same day. The lap band is inserted into the body microscopically and positioned around the stomach. The band is then tightened leaving the stomach smaller. This surgery is definitely not as high risk as the gastric bypass but can be as effective as the bypass. The band however can stretch allowing the stomach to grow if the system is not explicitly followed.

No matter which surgery is performed it will be frightening but have comfort in knowing there are doctors out there that concentrate solely on weight loss surgery. Weight loss surgery is a better alternative than fighting death or multiple health problems that have developed as a result of obesity.

Contrary to belief, weight loss surgery is not going to have instant results. You are going to have to be vigilant and fight overeating and eating the wrong things. Not to mention you will need to be doing some type of exercise. Healthy living is going to be the key factor in being successful in losing all the excess weight and keeping it off. Most things in life are not immediate and always require some effort on the person’s part.

Surgery may scare you but obesity should be scarier. Obesity can be a detriment to your health; cause multiple unwanted health problems and basically make your life miserable. If you have tried to lose weight on your own and just can not seem to defeat this menacing albatross, then talk to your doctor and see if weight loss surgery is for you. There are certain arm toning exercises that should be a staple in your program. And there are certain exercises that you should stay away from like the plague. Unfortunately, many women are consistently doing exercises that they should be avoiding.

How did this come to be?

Well, I believe we have a case of tradition overshadowing modern science. It seems as though certain fitness experts have been recommending specific arm exercises for so long that most women simply do them without any questioning.

The good news is that I’ve been figuring all this stuff out for quite some time now. And I’m ready to share my knowledge because I believe that every woman deserves sexy arms.

Thus, here is my critique of triceps kickbacks for reducing flabby arms:

1. Summary: This is probably the most overrated triceps exercise out there. Seriously. I think this exercise is a waste of time for two main reasons. First, exercising one arm at a time is extremely inefficient. Second, you can’t use heavy weights when doing this exercise. And heavy weights are critical for the fastest arm toning.

2. Technical overview: Find a low bench. Place one of your hands on it while leaning forward with knees slightly bent. Use your free hand to grasp a weight. Keep the same arm aligned with your torso. Lift the weight by straightening out your arm. Slowly lower it and repeat.

3. High frequency mistakes: Not keeping the elbows frozen in place. Jerking the dumbbell up and down. And not using the full range of movement.

4. Bottom line: Just because all the other women in your gym are doing this exercise doesn’t mean that you should. There are far better exercises out there for toning the triceps. Do not buy into this one.

Doing ineffective arm toning exercises is extremely demoralizing because you won’t get results. You’ll feel like you’re going around in circles. And without results, you’re more likely to quit. So make sure you stick to what works and disregard everything else, even if everybody is doing it. Good luck!
