Having spent twelve years as a stylist, I have a reputation among women for being a dependable authority in the world of beauty. However, they fail to realize that simple being a sharp, gay male at an attractive 6′2” does not automatically qualify me as an authority on the subject of beauty. It is true, though, that I always look out for any information that can help me get ahead among my colleagues .
Not long ago I was giving highlights to a client who had been coming to me for about 5 years. She struck up a conversation with the stylist next to me, boasting about how well her recent 54th birthday party had gone. I couldn’t believe my ears; all this time that I had been styling her hair I had always assumed she was no older than her mid forties.
I managed to hide my inquisitiveness about this woman’s secret to youth for a couple more minutes, but I ended up having to inquire as to how she managed to stay looking so young. Procedures like face lifts and Botox were the first to come to my mind, but I knew I had been mistaken about their use before, and I was in this case too.
I managed to get the confidence to ask her how she did it, “Girl what are you doing to keep yourself looking so young?” After we shared a laugh together, she asked me “Do you promise not divulge my secret?” in an elaboratively secret manner. I agreed enthusiastically, and so as she pulled me close to her she said in a whisper, “I found the fountain of youth”. I couldn’t help but laugh.
My client elaborated; she told me about her success in capturing her youth by using an organic skin cream rather than the lab created skin creams she used to utilize. I was skeptical, however, I wondered if there was really that big of a difference between the two types of creams.
That night, I decided to dig up a little information on my own. Upon doing so, I found out that most skin creams used preservatives that caused inflation of price and a decrease in the quality of the cream itself; even those that used the phrase “organic” had this problem.
It turns out the company my client referred uses no potentially toxic ingredients and all of their ingredients come from certified organic farms. They do not water down even their most potent ingredients and add no colorings agents or fragrances, both of which can affect results of the product.
I know now that it is vital to look at what potentially toxic ingredients are present in skin creams when looking for one to begin using; most will contain some of they are not 100% organic. A study done in 2004 found that Prebens, a preservative used in many beauty products, was also a component of 18 out of 20 malignant breast tumors. Overall, sticking completely organic products when searching for a skin cream is the most healthy, economical, and successful option.

We were told for a long time that the best moisturizer for face creams was petrolatum. This ingredient, as it happens is petroleum jelly ” which is not a good moisturizer at all! It doesn’t penetrate into the skin, so it really does nothing to moisturize, it feels greasy and of course, it can do more harm than good since petrolatum can clog pores!
When youre looking for facial moisturizers you’ll want to avoid synthetic chemical ingredients. Even if you don’t have particularly sensitive skin, the ingredients found in many moisturizers can irritate your skin, trigger allergic reactions and some are even toxins! You may not see any visible irritation, but your skin knows the difference and these ingredients are causing damage.
Because of the way in which skin reacts to these irritants, a certain amount of damage is virtually inevitable as you skin tries to expel the toxins. Additionally, its also been established that the resultant damage caused is largely to blame for the premature aging of skin.
The best facial moisturizer to use is one which does not contain these chemical irritants, toxins and allergens and is free of preservatives and artificial fragrances. The moisturizers you should be using are ones which contain all natural ingredients including ones with natural anti-inflammatory properties. You’ll also want antioxidants to be included, since these prevent cellular damage from free radicals.
Unlike healthy young people where the outer layer of skin is replaced about once a month, this natural process slows down dramatically as you get older. Because of this, its of paramount importance that we only use products made entirely from natural products.
In the not too distant past, Glycerin was considered the best facial moisturizer around and was able to increase the moisture in skin by 5%. Thanks to all the relentless research which has been carried out over the years, this is not longer the only option we have.
A New Zealand company has come up with a protein called functional keratin. Facial moisturizers which include this ingredient can increase skin moisture levels by more than 20% with a single use! This is a formula which offers a variety of other benefits and is the most effective facial moisturizer available while still being all natural and safe to use.
One aspect of Functional Keratin which has certainly caught the worlds attention is that its effect is long lasting. In fact, the 20% increase in moisture level is still apparent even after a period of 24 hours has passed. Furthermore, unlike other products, regular use of Functional Keratin results in skin being able to retain moisture with an average increase of around 11%.
Functional keratin is the best moisturizer for face and body creams since it helps your skin by helping it to carry out its natural function of cellular replacement. In as few as three days, this product increases the speed of this process by as much as 160%. While you could spend a lot of time looking for the best facial moisturizer, once you find this product, you’ll want to stick with it and enjoy the soft, smooth youthful skin it gives you.

The search is still on for the best skin firming face creams and lotions, and despite the number of contestants that there are there is actually very little real competition. That is unless you are referring to skin firming products that are vying for the title of most useless skin care cream. There the competition is hot and heavy, because as Im sure that youve already realized that the vast majority of the products out there fall into this category.
Some manufacturers dont really care whether what theyre selling is effective to good skin care. Some of them dont even really know about what the best ingredients are. Sure, they proclaim that their products are the best and they even have some paid chemists to back their assertions. But then, it all comes down to costumer contentment. Isnt it more beneficial to them if they actually took the time to make customers happy so that they can attract even more customers by doing so? Apparently not, theyre just happy that theyre still in the game.
Most of the purportedly best skin firming face creams is mere illusion. Thats the truth. Most of the time, youll see some sort of astringent (added with some collagen) to beautify the whole illusion. But in all actuality, theyre only there to fool you into thinking that you see and feel some results.
Theres a myth that face cream companies propagated. They purported that collagen can be absorbed through your skin. Of course, they dont exactly say this in so many words. Rather, they just give the impression that by using skin products like theirs, collagen can be absorbed topically. Due to this, its still a hit. That is just plain wrong. To set it straight, collagen can never be assimilated through your bodys skin, especially when its just applied locally.
Of course, not all manufacturers are that bad. There are companies that do provide quality products for skin care. To mention some, the companies based in New Zealand are usually reliable. Their products usually provide the natural ingredients that your body needs to secrete its own substances so that you can have beautiful skin.
If what you want is a skin firming product that really makes a difference then you are going to have to obtain one of the products that contain Functional Keratin. What Functional Keratin will do is it will induce the production of a great deal more collagen and elastin than your body normally produces as you get older.
Of course, not all good face creams have just keratin. There are other ingredients you need to look out for such as the ones that regulate dependable levels of hyaluronic acid in the skin. Along with elastin and collagen, your skin will be healthy (and not just look like it is) because of the functional keratin.
The best skin firming face doesnt contain collagen, but rather it contains the ingredients necessary for you to produce more of your own, and that is even better for changing the way that your skin looks, and feels.
