There is a saying that goes You are what you eat. It means that when you love to eat garbage, you will become like garbage (or at least look like garbage). If you want to feel younger you must change your eating habits. I don’t mean to say you eat less; you just eat the right food in the right way. Fruits and vegetables should be a daily part of your diet from now on since they are rich in vitamins that make you literally look younger.

Aside from quenching your thirst after a heavy workout, water helps you to digest your food well. It also flushes unwanted toxins and waste out of your body. Your skin also needs fluid in order to keep in moisturized. Six to eight glasses of water everyday will transform your dry and ugly skin and make it look smoother and clearer.

When you usually feel weaker than you probably should, maybe that’s because you spend most of your time sitting or lying around doing nothing. Regular exercise will help you maintain your bones and muscles as you grow older. A 30-minute brisk walking exercise daily will also strengthen your heart and reduce your risk for life-threatening diseases.

When the body is deficient from sleep, the blood pressure rises putting the heart at risk of chronic diseases. That’s why you are always told to have at least eight hours of sleeping time. Sleep has a lot of benefits aside from that. It also helps you boost your memory, the one thing you need to maintain as you are growing older.

It is said that the older a person gets, the more frustrations and fears he has in life. This is probably why a lot of people die depressed. If you want to avoid this in your life, be more optimistic. Healthy people have a positive mindset in life, so leave the past behind and race toward your goal whatever it is.

Stress is your number one enemy especially when you are aging. The older you get, the more stress you have. Eliminate stress and you will eliminate almost all your health problems. How do you that? Go for a vacation with your spouse and children. You will get the most out of life if you learn to enjoy rather than allow stress to control you.

For me, acne was a terrible thing to deal with, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who shares that sentiment. It affected me for over ten years, and I was only able to finally clear it up by visiting a doctor. While I tried to deal with it, it seemed like everyone had their own reasons as to why I kept getting flare ups.

I was told that acne is caused by eating too much fried, greasy food. As it turns out, there’s actually no relation between the two. Parents like to use it as a way of discouraging their children from eating these unhealthy foods, but there’s no actual link there. It is true, however, that getting grease on your skin can clog up the pores and lead to flare ups.

Some people said that my acne was caused by poor hygiene. That’s not true either. Of course, it never hurts to practice good personal hygiene, but failing to wash one’s face doesn’t cause acne. The problem comes from beneath the skin, where oil and dead skin cells cause breakouts.

Tanning was also suggested as a cure. While getting some sun might darken the skin and cover up the acne a little, it doesn’t provide an actual cure for the acne. Plus, being in the sun and tanning too much can cause skin cancer down the road as well as aging the skin prematurely.

Here are some of the actual, 100% true facts about acne.

Keep your face clear of your hair. The natural oils that are found in your hair can clog your facial pores if your hair is allowed to rest on your face, and breakouts can result.

Some types of makeup actually promote acne. Be careful when choosing and applying makeup, and if it’s a problem for you, look for special makeup made especially for people with acne problems.

Being stressed can lead to breakouts. It doesn’t always happen, but it has been known to occur, and it’s especially prevalent in some people.

When you have a breakout, think about your recent stress level. If you notice a correlation between your flare ups and high stress levels, you may be able to better control your acne by reducing your stress.
